Founded in 2005, The Vegetable Circus is a series of programs that use circus & movement arts to teach children how to take control of their own health. We offer interactive juggling theater shows, structured multi-week after-school enrichment programs, and encompassing skill-toy workshops. Our goal is to introduce children to healthy, confidence-raising activities that can become life-long passions.
Our after-school enrichment program is currently serving the greater Boston and the Bay areas, teaching juggling, sphereplay, hula-hooping, acrobatics, balancing, and many more circus skills! We use time between activities to teach lessons in respect, friendship, and relevant health and nutrition facts. Regardless of the venue, the mission of the Vegetable Circus is: To challenge children to realize the truths behind the foods they eat, the media they're saturated with, and how they spend their free time, all while empowering them to relax, recognize their strengths, and express themselves.
Jamie Oliver & OpenIDEO challenged the world for programs to lead the Food Revolution to Children; click to read their PDF which includes us as a top idea!
