Money should not be our captor. Money is a tool, a language, a form of communication. Currency is a mirror by which the merits and flaws of humanity are reflected. Financial harmony is crucial if we are to take bold steps towards a better world.
These are the convictions that I brought with me to A.W.E.N.'s Board. Our organization leads by example. The grass-roots origins of our non-profit have encouraged a sense of dynamic creativity and optimized our efficiency. Our knack for relating to communities on a local level sets the scene to enable budgets of any size to be a conduit that raises everyone's quality of life.
I have held the seat of Treasurer for A.W.E.N. two years and running. Aside from keeping detailed financial records I strive to make A.W.E.N.'s treasury a sturdy foundation for the best possible story. This non-profit knows the value of a dollar, and consistently achieves the maximum effect with the minimum energy. I believe that cultivating a sense of personal responsibility, nation-wide, is intrinsic to ensuring the United States' economic sustainability. We at A.W.E.N. strive to be living in a way that proves money is a tool to make our lives better, and not a mechanism to oppress us.
Along with my duty as Treasurer I also co-created our Vegetable Circus. Our children's interactive juggling program about growing up healthy nourishes the roots of love in local communities across the country. When the roots of love are nurtured in the community money can only have a fortifying and positive effect. Even the most limited budget will go a long way in an intelligent and compassionate community. With compassion money becomes yet one more tool with which to raise our quality of life.
To all you reading this; know that you are reading my hopes and dreams. The United States of America has always led by example. The journey to a better tomorrow starts at home. If our country can clean its proverbial house then we will set an example that will only raise the quality of life world-wide. I challenge every American to dream strong dreams. Throw off indifference and apathy! We have never had so many tools with which to Ally for Wellness!
